I’m not sure if what I’m about to do is “doing it right”, but hopefully it’s ok.
My Manga Journey Part 1
I haven’t been reading manga for very long, less than 10 years. I’ve been aware of manga for over 2 decades though. My first brush with manga was in when a comics shop owner recommended Ranma 1/2.
I love the art and the characters are hilariously quirky. I admit I had a soft spot for P-chan, especially when he was annoyed or angry…but I quickly lost interest in the series. It felt repetitive.
Manga crossed my path again when my daughter was a teen. She was into InuYasha. I eventually read that series (another post), but first I decided to give Ranma another go. Same thing. It felt repetitive and I stopped after maybe the 9th or 10th volume.
And here I am years later, wondering if I should go back and try it yet again. The last thing I need is 38 volumes of manga taking up shelf space though.
